The Great Abdel Moneim El Dahan
1st Generation (1913-2004)
Founder & Pioneer
The story of El Dahan Carpets began in 1943, when Abdel Moneim El Dahan (1913–2004) founded the company after years of experience in industry and craftsmanship. He began his career at the Ministry of Industry, where he was exposed to advanced production and quality control methods. Following this period, he gained valuable hands-on knowledge from Jewish and English experts in Egypt at the time, learning the art of carpet dyeing, washing, and production. After mastering these techniques, he established his own specialized dyeing and carpet-care laboratory, laying the technical foundation of the business. This unique progression, combining governmental experience, international expertise, and artisanal skill-shaped a company built on precision, quality, and deep technical understanding. Driven by a strong emotional connection to the craft, his long-term vision was to create a family legacy rooted in trust, mastery, and timeless workmanship.
Born in 1950, Sayed El Dahan played a pivotal role in advancing the family business by dedicating his work to the science and craft of carpet care. He specialized in carpet repair, professional washing techniques, and the careful exploration of safe chemical processes, ensuring that each carpet was treated according to its materials, age, and structure. His deep technical understanding allowed both antique and modern carpets to be preserved with precision, protecting their colors, fibers, and original character. Through continuous experimentation and improvement, he developed methods that extended the life and vibrancy of valuable pieces. By combining innovation with respect for traditional craftsmanship, Sayed El Dahan significantly strengthened the company’s reputation for quality, reliability, and long-term care, laying a strong technical foundation for future generations to build upon.

Leadership & Expansion
Born in 1972, Mr. Abdel Moneim El Dahan grew up surrounded by his family’s long history in the carpet business. While studying law, he began working with his grandfather in 1987, learning the trade step by step through real, hands-on experience. He worked in carpet washing, repair, dyeing, and evaluation, spending many hours understanding every detail of the craft. This early involvement helped him build a strong respect for quality and careful workmanship. After his grandfather passed away in 2004, he continued working hard to develop his skills and knowledge. In 2012, he decided to establish his own independent business, determined to build a strong name based on honesty and quality. Through years of effort, patience, and dedication, he expanded the business and earned the trust of clients. Today, Abdel Moneim El Dahan’s name reflects experience, reliability, and authenticity.
Representing the next generation, Adam El Dahan (born 2006) grew up working closely with his father, learning the carpet business directly from him at a young age. Through daily exposure to the trade, he was taught the importance of quality, patience, and responsibility, and was encouraged to understand every step of the process, not just the final product. His father played a key role in pushing him to improve himself, gain experience, and think beyond tradition while respecting it. Alongside this hands-on learning, Adam is currently studying Business at The British university in Egypt, combining practical experience with modern business knowledge. He has also worked in several fields outside the carpet industry to broaden his skills and perspective. By leading digital marketing and strengthening the brand’s online presence, he aims to grow the business while preserving the family legacy for future generations.
